Lympne School underwent its last Ofsted Inspection (Short Inspection) in October 2016, during the inspection the school was rated as ‘Good’ overall.
Since the time of the last inspection, there has been a significant change in how schools are inspected under a new inspection framework September 2019 onwards. Currently, we are awaiting an inspection under the new framework.

Section 48 Inspection - SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools)
A Section 48 Inspection (SIAMS) is named after the relevant section it appears within the 2005 Education Act. All Church of England schools are subject to what is called a Section 48 Inspection by an inspector appointed by their own diocese. The Section 48 takes a detailed look at the Christian, and specifically Anglican or Methodist, nature of the school.
The areas the inspection focuses on are:
- The school’s Christian character.
- The impact of worship on the school community.
- The effectiveness of Religious Education.
- The effectiveness of the leadership and management of the school.
We are pleased to be able to report that our recent Section 48 Inspection was rated as ‘Outstanding’.
