Remote Learning

Please find below a link to our Remote Learning Policy in addition to an outline of our Remote Learning Offer.

Tier 1 – Self Isolating or waiting for test result – up to 14 days.

Parents to contact classteacher via email for an overview of the areas being covered in the short term.

 

Parents are then asked to read the class Newsletter which outlines what is being covered in each term. For additional information parents can also consult the Our Curriculum section of the website which provides a more detailed explanation of exactly what is being covered.

 

Please utilise the following:

-Reading Eggs

 

-Mathletics

 

-Oak Academy – for English and all other subjects – see link https://classroom.thenational.academy

 

-White Rose Maths – for Maths https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/

 

-Relevant Spellings/Home Learning which is already provided.

 

-Specific feedback will not be provided.

- Office will carry out first day calling where necessary.

 

Tier 2 – Shielding for a length of time

Please contact classteacher – via email at first and make a telephone appointment to speak to the classteacher.

-Create an outline plan with the classteacher which may consist of any, or all, of the following:

     - Reading Eggs

     -Mathletics

     -White Rose Maths – for Maths

-Relevant Spellings/Home Learning which is already provided.

 

-Adults to check in with child once a week to give verbal feedback regarding their learning – via either MST or telephone – again in liaison with the parents.

 In both Tier 3 and 4 situations class teachers will provide a weekly overview of the activities that are being set for the following week by 5pm on the Friday before. This will enable parents to have an overview of each day and what to expect.

Tier 3 – Full class Closure/’Bubble’ Pop

In the event of whole class self isolation – including staff – the following will be provided either by the classteacher or cover (SLT).

 

-Set at least 3 daily tasks. (One English and Maths and one other) The classteacher should provide pupils with an outline of the day – with tasks focussed on: English (reading, phonics, writing) and Maths followed by an additional no core subject activity task.

-The classteacher will provide an introduction to the daily tasks being set – via MST. This session will be no shorter than 30 minutes in total and no longer than an hour.

Feedback will be provided to written work that has been submitted to the teacher – except Maths – which will be self marking. The feedback will be offered through a daily window of time.

-Reading Eggs and Mathletics may be used.

White Rose Maths and the Oak Academy may also be used if appropriate.

-Register will be taken of all those attending on the MST. Those absent will have a welfare call.

 

Tier 4 – Local Lockdown – whole school closed

In the event of a whole school closure the following will be provided by the classteacher – unless they are unwell.

 

Set at least 3 daily tasks. (One English and Maths and one other) The classteacher should provide pupils with an outline of the day – with tasks focused on: English (reading, phonics, writing) and Maths followed by an additional no core subject activity task.

-The classteacher will provide an introduction to the daily tasks being set – via MST. This session will be no shorter than 30 minutes in total and no longer than an hour.

Feedback will be provided to written work that has been submitted to the teacher – except Maths – which will be self marking. The feedback will be offered through a daily window of time.
