Our groups...
Every Child Matters, the Government’s vision for Children’s services, was published in September 2003. It proposed reshaping children’s services to help achieve the outcomes which are key to wellbeing in childhood and later life. Al Lympne School we are committed to supporting the Every Child Matters agenda and providing quality activities to enhance the lives of the children in our care.
Lympne School achieved Healthy Schools Status in September 2008. We are committed to teaching children about leading a healthy lifestyle; eating a balanced diet, leading an active lifestyle and the importance of rest and relaxation.
As part of our PSHCE programme we teach children to respect themselves and others, and the importance of keeping safe from harm.
We have road safety, stranger danger and drug awareness programmes in place, which are supported by the local police and Community Warden. The Governors have a sex education policy which is reviewed yearly.
Our School Council are encouraged to ensure that all children have a say in the running of the school, and we hold regular pupil voice questionnaires to support this. Our children are encouraged to be involved in projects around the school to improve the environment and several outside events such as Carol singing and Maypole dancing in the community.
The Charity committee, run by Year 6 pupils raise money for various charities across the year, and the KS2 fruit monitors prepare and sell fruit at playtimes. Our Year 4 children fund raised to purchase an area of Rainforest.
We provide a variety of activities for children to help them to enjoy their learning and make it relevant. This includes school trips, practical activities, themed days and weeks eg. Victorian Day and Science week.
