Equality Objectives

Lympne Primary School is committed to ensuring equality of provision throughout the school community irrespective of their race, gender, disability, belief, religion or socio-economic backgrounds.

In order to achieve this, we have set the following equality objectives:

Objective 1: Narrow the gap between attainment of pupils eligible for the Pupil Premium and those pupils not eligible for the premium.

Why we have chosen this objective: As a result of Covid 19 research suggests that children eligible for PP funding will have been disproportionately affected by the lockdown period and absence from school.

To achieve this objective we plan to: ensure consistent good quality first teaching is happening all of the time; provide additional tuition sessions for pupils where needs be and additional pastoral support.

Objective 2: Narrow  the  gap in attendance and positive wellbeing of pupils eligible for the Pupil Premium and those pupils not eligible for the premium.

Why we have chosen this objective:  Noticeable gap in wellbeing levels, particularly between Non PP and PP pupils.

To achieve this objective we plan to: Identify pupils who are demonstrating low levels of wellbeing and provide them with additional SEMH support using: Forest School, Interventions and additional opportunities such as Rock Steady and Beanstalk.

For attendance we wil be offering a wide range of strategies to engage with families to improve attendance.
